JP Morrison grew up chasing bugs in rural Oklahoma, outside of Tulsa. She became an artist when she was eleven, inspired by a trip with her parents through the galleries of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She received a Bachelors of Fine Art in both painting and creative writing from The Kansas City Arts Institute. While living in Kansas City she co-owned a gallery with a colleague exhibiting the works of their contemporaries. Of her work Morrison says, “I strive to create artwork at the top of my abilities, both technically and conceptually. This fortunately means that I spend my days imagining and creating the almost impossible, and my nights reading fairytales.”
