We both have always been fascinated with the translucent and reflective properties of glass. The way it manipulates color and light is unique and is always fascinating. Every piece is an experiment and leads us to new discoveries.
Tracey Bewley, a Native Oklahoman, graduated from Norman High School in 1982. Following graduation, Tracey attended Oklahoma City University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Minor in Museum Studies. She began her professional life as a picture framer, while also volunteering at the Historical Society Museum in the area of conservation. In 1995, Tracey started her career at MTM (Midwest Trophy Manufacturing Co.) in Del City, and currently serves as Director of the Creative Design Department. Over the years, Tracey has explored several artistic mediums, such as illustrating, painting, sculpting, and working with stained glass.
Rick Bewley spent his youth in San Diego, California, though he has lived in Oklahoma most of his life. After graduating from Moore High School in 1976, Rick began developing his skills in carpentry and acrylic fabrication. In the 80s, he owned and operated an acrylic fabrication company. In 1988, he started to work for MTM and helped to create their custom awards fabrication departments. Rick continues his career at MTM, currently doing research and development for product design and fabrication, while also managing a production facility in Mexico. From functional items, such as custom aquariums, to purely creative expressions, such as sculpture, Rick continues to utilize acrylic in new dimensions.
Partnering Beyond Marriage - For the last several years, the Bewley's primary artistic collaboration was house restoration and most recently, restoring their 1930s International style home in Oklahoma City's Historic Shepherd Neighborhood. Though they are still progressing with their home renovation, their discovery of - and now passion for - fused glass has proven to be an ideal medium for marrying their artistic talents.
