Art of The Nude
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – JRB Art at The Elms presents “Art of The Nude”, a celebration by more than 30 artists, of the sensual human body. The exhibition will include painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, and installation works. Our inaugural nude show, opens on Friday, July 7th at 6:00 p.m. during the Paseo Arts District’s monthly First Friday Gallery Walk.
Nude figures are as old as art itself and have embodied the beliefs of most cultures. In ancient cultures deities were given human forms. Since then, each civilization has had a different way of looking at the human body. Throughout the ages artists have shown the body ideally, nostalgically, allegorically, romantically, erotically and politically. If history is any indication, the nude will always be a popular and timely art form.
