JRB Young Artists Series

CALL FOR ENTRIES

JRB Art at The Elms is seeking new work for its Young Artists Series. The Young Artist Series is a rotating series of exhibits, by artists under 30 years of age, which will be placed and sold in commercial venues. We are now considering work to be placed in an ongoing three month rotation at Picasso’s on Paseo, a restaurant in the Historic Paseo Arts District. The work will be selected and installed by Gallery staff. In addition to this initial exhibition, opportunities may be available to participate in future group and solo exhibitions in other venues. Each artist may submit eight to ten digital images along with a resume, contact information, bio, and an artist statement. All work must be for sale and ready to hang, and the artist must be able to deliver and retrieve artwork from the gallery. For more details, please visit our website at jrbartgallery.com. ELIGIBILITY

This Young Artists Series is open to artists under the age of 30 who are living in Oklahoma. Only two-dimensional work is eligible, and all work should be suitably framed, wired, and ready to hang. Entries must be original works. Accepted works may be refused if digital image entry does not accurately represent the work or if the work is not suitable or prepared for hanging or display. All artworks must be for sale. Specific sizes are needed for projects and are as follows. Work that does not fit these criteria will not be considered.

ENTRY

There is no entry fee. Works will be juried by Gallery staff from digital image files. Digital image files should be submitted on CD in a JPG format. No files larger than 15 MB please. Include a single reference sheet with thumbnail prints representing the images on the disc. Next to each thumbnail, include Artist name, Title, Media, Dimensions, Price and File Name. The file name should be artist’s last name and first word of the title of piece. For example, Joe Smith “Untitled” shall be named “Smith_Untitled”. Please label CD with artist name and e-mail address.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance for the initial project no later than March 31st, 2010. Notification will be made by phone and/or e-mail. If accepted, we require a photograph of the artist. Delivery of the artwork will be made at a pre-arranged time to the gallery. The Gallery reserves the right to determine whether or not the work will be shown individually (as a solo show) or in a group show with other artists.

PRICING AND GALLERY COMMISSION

All works must be for sale. Pricing should be included with submission. JRB Art at the Elms will receive a 50% commission on all works sold. Artist commission checks will be paid after all checks and credit cards are cleared.

LIABILITY AND AGREEMENT

Entries will be insured by JRB Art at the Elms while in its custody. The Gallery’s staff will exercise all reasonable care in handling. The Gallery’s employees and agents cannot assume liability for loss or damage for any cause. In the case of loss or damage, compensation of the wholesale value will be provided to the artist. The Gallery reserves the right to photograph any accepted work for publicity purposes and to install the accepted works in any manner deemed necessary for exhibition or security reasons. Sending an entry to this exhibition constitutes an agreement by the artist to the conditions set forth above.
