Jim Keffer


Jim Keffer was born in Oklahoma City and has lived here his entire life. Before beginning a painting journey now 13 years old, Jim spent his first 47 years “gathering material, as he puts it. The self-taught painter works in a colorful, “modern primitive” style, painting scenes of the rural areas of Oklahoma and New Mexico. Keffer is known for his depictions of buildings nestled among huge blue skies and puffy clouds over the plains, desert and mountains. Jim has won awards both for his accomplishments in painting and furniture-making, including “Best of Show” at the 2007 Paseo Festival. The Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts honored Jim as the poster artist for Oklahoma‘s centennial year festival.
