Eileen Thomas was born and raised in Idabel, Oklahoma and she started drawing at an early age. Eileen attended East Central University in Ada and, in 1972, graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Fine Art. Most of her career was in Cost Accounting before she changed to teaching and, later, customer service. Amidst these career changes, Eileen continued to paint, always looking for new subjects. Old detailed buildings and architecture caught her eye. In reminiscing with others, she saw that memories can bond people. Times change and lifestyles or ways of doing things back in the day are no longer practiced. She believes we are products of our past. Painting nostalgic and historic scenes is Eileen’s way of preserving memories and history on canvas.
