Sohail Shehada Biography

Sohail Shehada is an Associate Professor of Figurative Sculpture and Drawing at the University of Oklahoma. He received both a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma in 1998. Prior to these, Shehada earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University. He has received an impressive list of public and private commissions in bronze and marble, including several sculptures that are permanently displayed on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman, OK. His work is influenced by African culture, the supernatural, and the performing arts, including ballet and opera.
